Hyderabad girls crashed out of the BCCI U-15 One-day Tournament after suffering a seven-wicket loss to Maharashtra in the pre-quarterfinals on Wednesday at Puducherry.

Electing to bat, Hyderabad batters failed to find their groove. Within no time, they lost both their openers, P Shanvi (4) and Bhavishya Reddy (1). They had just eight runs on the board at that time. Sai Druvigna (12) and Yamuna (9) took the score to 24 before Yamuna perished.

Hyderabad then lost wickets at regular intervals to be reduced to 56 for seven before Shaik Aisha and Ananya Dandu did some repair work. They added 31 before Ananya (23) fell.

Aisha and Nikeshini V (15) then added 36, the highest partnership in the innings, for the ninth wicket to take Hyderabad past the 100-run mark.

Hyderabad were finally bowled out for 123 in 32.4 overs with Aisha stranded on 31 off 50 balls with five fours.

On the other hand, the Maharashtra girls had no problems taking on the Hyderabad bowlers. Openers Niheera Sharma (51; 51 balls, 8×4) and Sanskruti Ghortale (29) added 77 for the opening wicket to more or less settle the issue.

Aaradhya Amol Pawar then hit an unbeaten 24 as Maharashtra made 126 for three in 24.4 overs.

Brief scores: Hyderabad 123/10 in 32.4 overs (Shaik Aisha 31no) lost to Maharashtra 126/3 in 24.4 overs (Niheera Sharma 51)
