Hyderabad had a good first day in office as they ran up 304 for eight against Mumbai in their four-day Col CK Nayudu Trophy match in Mumbai on Friday.

Most of the Hyderabad batters got off to good starts but none of them stayed long enough to notch up a three-figure mark.

Skipper Mayank Gupta won the toss and elected to bat first. Hyderabad, however, lost Wafi Kachchhi (4) with nine on the board.

But Pattapu Raghava and Aravelly Avanish steadied the innings with a 72-run partnership before the latter fell to Suryansh Shedge after making 49 off 45 balls with 11 fours.

Then Raghava and Mayank added 77 off 167 balls to steady the innings. Raghava finally departed after making 62 off 146 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Mayank too went thereafter after making 47. Dheeraj Goud then contributed 25.

G Ritish Reddy made 43 before being run out by Zaid Patankar and Pranav Varma scored 23.

Nitin Sai Yadav contributed 39 to bolster the score.  At stumps, MA Adnan was batting on 1 and with him was Nishanth also on 1.
