Hriday brace helps Red Havoc down Rainbow FC, Garden FC shootout YDC ECIL

Hriday struck a brace to power Red Havoc Secunderabad Club to a comprehensive 3-0 win over Rainbow Football Club, RK Puram, in the Bolarum Challenge Cup football tournament in Secunderabad on Sunday.

In a game which was dominated by Red Havoc Secunderabad Club, Hriday opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the game. Anuj then made it 2-0 in the 37th minute of play to give Red Havoc the upperhand.

The teams went into the break with Red Havoc leading 2-0.

After the interval, Red Havoc continued with their attacking mode as they kept the rival defenders on their toes. Hriday rounded off the tally as he scored his second goal of the match in the 43rd minute.

In the first match, YDC ECIL and Garden Football Club, Bolarum, played out a goalless draw. Garden FC held their nerve in the penalty shootout to win 3-2 and advance to the next round.

Earlier, Garden Football Club, Bolarum, held their nerves to edge YDC ECIL 3-2 in a penalty shootout. Neither side was able to score during regulation time and, therefore, a shootout was necessary to separate the teams.

Cantonment MLA N Ganesh was the chief guest for the inauguration of the tournament. The other guests were former BSC president Vijay Kumar, former Indian football captain Victor Amalraj, former player Pratap Selan and others.

Results: Red Havoc Secunderabad Club 3 (Hriday 15th & 43rd mins; Anuj 37th min) beat Rainbow FC, RK Puram.  Garden Football Club, Bolarum, beat YDC ECIL 3-2 via shootout. Sky Kings FC 5 beat Community Boys FC 1.

Tomorrow’s Fixture: Super Strikers FC vs JJ Nagar FC at 4 pm.
