Following an extraordinary response from educational institutions across Telangana, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is pleased to announce a major expansion and reopening of registrations for the upcoming Under-16 Inter-School & Inter-College Tournament, says a release issued by the cricket body on Wednesday.
“As per our earlier notification, registrations were capped at a cumulative total of 120 schools and colleges and were subsequently closed upon reaching the capacity. However, to accommodate the overwhelming demand and ensure maximum participation of young cricketers, the HCA has officially doubled the tournament capacity to 240 teams,” it said.

The knock-out tournament will be conducted in September 2026. The registrations will reopen at 11 am on August 27, 2026, and will close at 6 pm on August 30, 2026, or whenever the total count of 240 registered teams is reached (whichever is earlier).
Entries will be accepted at the HCA office, Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, from 11 am to 6 pm daily. Entry through Gate No. 1.
“Please go through all the terms and information regarding the HCA Under-16 Inter-School & Inter-College Tournament on www.hycricket.org/ and make sure to read all the details,” adds the release.
Registrations will be processed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the expanded 240-team limit is filled, no further registrations will be accepted. Interested schools and colleges are advised to complete their registration at the earliest.
“Despite a congested September domestic calendar, marked by parallel division leagues, Super Leagues and State squad practice matches, the HCA has scaled up ground allocations, officiating staff and operational logistics. We remain fully committed to providing a robust competitive platform for young talent across Hyderabad,” says the release.
“The entry fee is ₹2,000 per school or college team. The entry fee shall be payable at the time of submission of the entry. The entry fee shall be accepted only in cash at the time of submission of the entry. No other mode of payment will be accepted,” adds the release.
