Pullela Gopichand unveils Allen Junior 10K Run jersey

National badminton chief coach and former All-England champion Pullela Gopichand on Friday unveiled the Allen World Junior 10K Run jersey. He stated that these kinds of runs help in promoting fitness, awareness, and interest in sports among children.

He expressed his delight that Hyderabad is hosting this time-based run, which is being organized for the first time in the country for children aged between Under-3 and Under-18.

“The run will start at Gachibowli Stadium, go via the ISB Junction, and finish back at the stadium,” said Rohit Mishra, CEO of SpotOnn Sports, and the organizer of the run.

Free Entry for Hakimpet Government Sports School Students

Rohit said that with the intention of providing equal opportunities to all in sports, they were providing free entry to 300 students from the Government Sports School of Hakimpet.

He added that every participant in the run will receive a certificate, medal, T-shirt, a special kit, and breakfast.

Children who have registered for the run are advised to collect their kits at the expo being held at Ashoka One Mall, Kukatpally, Decathlon store on Saturday between 10:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The total prize money for the run is Rs 3 lakh.

Such runs are necessary, said DACAH president Surender

Differently Abled Cricket Association of Hyderabad (DACAH) is also one of the supporters of the run.

The motto of DACAH is to empower differently abled cricketers by providing the players opportunities and creating an inclusive cricket culture. “We are proud to be associated with the Allen World Junior 10K Run. This run will promote fitness and an awareness of running and sports. Such runs are needed for school children these days,” said DACAH president Surender Kumar Agarwal.
