Ganesh Gadugu is the answer to all the critics of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) who have been lambasting the cricket body for its so-called neglect of district cricketers. In the recent past, there has been a torrent of criticism not only for outsiders but also those who have been involved with the HCA in various capacities and also some former players.

Hyderabad E-Champions all-rounder Ganesh Gadugu believes the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s TG20 is proving to be a game-changing platform for district cricketers, with the 26-year-old determined to repay the faith shown in him through impactful performances.

Ganesh once again showcased his all-round abilities in Hyderabad E-Champions’ 56-run victory over Khammam Aces, smashing 44 off just 21 balls before returning to claim two wickets in the final over to seal the win.

Huge platform for district players, says Ganesh

The district cricketer said the tournament has given players like him an opportunity they had long waited for. “The league has given district players like us a huge platform to showcase our talent. We now get to play alongside established cricketers and in front of IPL scouts. We’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for so many years, and we’re grateful to the organisers for creating it,” Ganesh said.

Despite his growing reputation as a dependable all-rounder, Ganesh insisted that personal milestones take a backseat to the team’s success.

“My only goal is to give my hundred percent whenever the team needs me. Whether it’s batting or bowling, I just want to contribute towards helping the team win the trophy. I’m grateful to the coaches, my captain and everyone who has backed me throughout this journey,” he added.

Abhirath praises Ganesh

Hyderabad E-Champions captain Abhirath Reddy was full of praise for the youngster, describing him as one of the team’s biggest match-winners.

“Ganesh is someone who can change the momentum of a game in a flash. Whether it’s with the bat, in the field or with the ball, he’s always ready to contribute. Even today, his finishing with the bat gave us the total we wanted, and he’s been doing that consistently for us,” Abhirath said.
