The competitions in the second phase of the CM Cup are heating up with each passing day. There is tremendous enthusiasm from youngsters in the villages where competitions are being held.
On Sunday, sports competitions were held enthusiastically in several village clusters in the Madhira constituency of Khammam district. The first phase of rural cluster competitions were conducted in Madhira town, Yerrupalem, and Kodumuru in Chintakani mandal of the Madhira constituency.

The competitions held in Madhira were inaugurated by Thumburu Sunil Reddy, district youth welfare officer, Sampath, local municipal commissioner, Rallabadni Rambabu, tahsildar, MEO Prabhakar, Vemreddy Srinivas Reddy, district Congress spokesperson, and Miriyala Ramana Gupta, town Congress president.
On this occasion, Sunil Reddy said that the Telangana State government’s sports department was conducting competitions in five phases – at the village, mandal, assembly constituency, district, and state levels – under the aegisis of the Sports Authority of Telangana. He said that players who have registered online will be selected from the rural cluster level to the mandal and constituency levels, and then to the district level.

He further stated that after the district-level competitions, they will be selected for the state-level team, and the Sports Authority of Telangana was ready to identify talented players from the village level to the state level, provide them with better training and facilities, and prepare them to become Olympic-level athletes.
He said that there is a good response from young athletes across the district, and with the cooperation of the district collector and district officials, they will conduct programs to encourage youngsters groom their sporting talent.
