DRC Sports Foundation roar back into contention with a 5-1 win over Bend It Club

DRC Sports Foundation roared back with a resounding 5-1 win over Bend It Club in the Hyderabad Pickleball League (HPL) Club League at the Bend it Club in Hyderabad.

DRC Sports Foundation, who had narrowly lost their opening game to Soo Collection, stamped their authority in no uncertain terms.

They brooked no challenge as they went on the rampage against Bend It Club. DRC players truly bent it all their way as they romped to a comfortable victory.

Sanjana shines but DRC Sports Foundation go down fighting to Soo Collective 3-4 in HPL

DRC began by winning the men’s doubles tie in what was a closely fought affair. Manoj Kumar Reddy K and Bhupal Raju Nadimpalli had to battle it out against Pranav Reddy G and Nevan Vumulapali. The teams fought tooth and nail as the winner was not spotted to the very end. DRC won the tie 16-14 to go one up.

After the men exited the court, it was the women’s double game. Mattipati Diya and Sanjana Sirimalla, unlike their men, came out with guns all blazing. The barrage of winners was too much to handle by their rivals Sreetha Reddy Mareddy and Katyayini Kondepudi. The DRC duo won the tie without much ado. It turned out to be a lop-sided contest as they won 15-3.

The men’s singles also turned out to be a closely-fought battle as Mahesh Reddy had to use all his skills to ward off the challenge posed by Nekkanti Nikhil. Mahesh managed to prevail 16-14 to give DRC Foundation a 3-0 lead.

Sanjana Sirimalla then took the court to eke out another lop-sided victory. This time it was over Katyayini Kondepudi in the women’s singles. Sanjana is proving quite a handful for her rivals in the tournament. She romped to an easy 15-2 win to put DRC Foundation 4-0 up.

After two closely-fought games in the men’s category, hosts Bend It Club finally got a point on the board when the won the men’s doubles 2 tie. Monish Reddy and Rohith Gadde scored a 15-9 win over Sahit Reddy and Mahesh Reddy.

However, DRC Foundation players were in no mood to extend the tie. They made it 5-1 by winning the mixed doubles encounter.

Mattipati Diya and Manoj Kumar Reddy K scored a 15-6 win over Nevan Vemulapalli and Sreetha Reddy Mareddy to crown the evening in triumph.

After two rounds, DRC Foundation are in the fourth position in Conference A. 48 Pickle Club and SOO Collective are in the first two places.

Men’s doubles-2: Mahesh Reddy / Sahit Reddy lost to Monish Reddy / Rohith Gadde 9-15.

Mixed doubles: Diya Mattipati / Mahesh Reddy beat Nevan Vemulapalli / Sreetha Reddy Mareddy 15-6.
