Olympians Chain Singh and Anjum Moudgil will lead an 18-member Indian shooting contingent at the ISSF World Cup 2026 Granada in Spain from April 5 to 12. The Granada shooting meet is the first ISSF World Cup of the year for rifle and pistol shooters.

Indian shooters failed to win a medal at the season-opening Shotgun World Cup in Tangier, Morocco, earlier this month.

The Indian squad for the rifle and pistol World Cup carries ample experience but will miss Paris 2024 medallists Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh and Swapnil Kusale. Former world champion Rudrankksh Patil and Asian Games medallist Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar are the other notable absentees.

Chain Singh, a Rio 2016 Olympian, will spearhead India’s campaign in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions alongside former Asian champion Akhil Sheoran.

Anjum Moudgil, a two-time Olympian with seven ISSF World Cup medals, will lead the charge in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event.

Reigning Asian Games champion Palak Gulia will headline India’s challenge in women’s 10m air pistol, while Rhythm Sangwan will compete in both the 10m air pistol and 25m pistol events.

Mehuli Ghosh, also a former Asian champion, will lead India’s campaign in women’s 10m air rifle and double up in the 50m rifle 3 positions event.

National champion Kiran Ankush Jadhav, searching for his maiden ISSF World Cup medal, will lead the squad in the 10m air rifle.

Varun Tomar will feature in the 10m air pistol while Vijayveer Sidhu will compete in the 25m rapid fire pistol.

A total of 434 athletes from 51 Olympic committees are expected to participate in the ISSF World Cup Granada.

Each individual gold medallist at the ISSF World Cup qualifies for the year-end ISSF World Cup Final, which will be held in Rome, Italy, in December.
