Canara Bank, HMWS&SB and ECIL post comfortable victories in HCA D Division

Eshwar hit an unbeaten half-century to power Canara Bank to a thumping seven-wicket win over HAL Sports Club in the HCA D Division (Institution) One-day League.

Batting first, HAL scored 167 in 33.2 overs with N Manoj Kumar making 37. However, the total was not sufficient to test the Canara Bank players. They replied with 169 for three in 31.2 overs as Eshwar scored an unbeaten 67 and M Naveen made 44.

In another match, HMWS&SB scored an easy seven-wicket win over BHEL with plenty of overs to spare.

BHEL, batting first, were restricted to 124 for three in 20 overs with M Praveen Kumar making 57 not out. In reply, HMWS&SB made 125 for three in 15.1 overs as Murali Swamy scored 67.

Elsewhere, Tushar Jadhav took four wickets to set up ECIL’s four-wicket win over GHMC.

Tushar Jadhav took four for 23 as GHMC were restricted to 166 for seven. Vishnu Goud made 40 and K Vishwajeet scored 39. In reply, ECIL made 167 for six as T Nookaraju scored 73 and L Ramesh made 33. K Vishwajeet had a good day as he took three for 47 but his efforts went in vain.

Brief scores: GHMC 166/7 in 30 overs (K Vishwajeet 39, Vishnu Goud 40, Tushar Jadhav 4/23) lost to ECIL 167/6 in 28.2 overs (T Nookaraju 73, L Ramesh 33, K Vishwajeet 3/47).

BHEL 124/3 in 20 overs (M Praveen Kumar 57no) lost to HMWS &SB 125/3 in 15.1 overs (Murali Swamy 67).

HAL Sports Club 167 in 33.2 overs (N Manoj Kumar 37) lost to Canara Bank 169/3 in 31.2 overs (Eshwar 67no, M Naveen 44).
