C V Anand scored a comfortable 6-2, 6-3 victory over Neelkant Dambre of Goa in the final of the 55+ age category at the 23rd Hyderabad Open Tennis Tournament on Saturday.”

The + 55 age category singles final of the HOTA was quite absorbing. I had to pull all out all stops to even be a match for Neelkant Dambre, a very popular tennis player from Goa. My superior fitness helped me outlast him over two sets and I won 6-2, 6-3. This win comes after a long gap of four years when I last won a tennis tournament. It feels great,” said Anand.
