Bhavesh hits double ton; Divesh, Ravi Teja, Dheeraj and Pranav notch up centuries

Bhavesh Seth went on to make a double century, while Divesh Singh and T Ravi Teja struck centuries to help Senior Team G amass 685 for eight against Senior Team H on the second day of the HCA Senior Men’s Super League at the HPS Begumpet cricket ground in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Resuming at their overnight score of 432 for three with Bhavesh batting on 167 and Divesh on 52, Team G continued with their rampage. The duo brooked no challenge as they toyed with the rival attack. They added 276 off 299 balls for the fourth wicket before both of them retired out at the same score of 524.

Bhavesh Seth scored 208 off 210 balls with 28 fours and five sixes, while the left-handed Divesh got 102 off 146 balls with nine fours and two sixes.

Though they got rid of Ali Kachchhi (15) and Aniketh Reddy (1), there was not much respite for Team H as T Ravi Teja sent the bowlers on a leather hunt.

He found an able partner in Tarun Rajan (26) as the duo added 82 ff 78 balls for the seventh wicket. After Rajan’s fall, Ravi Teja and Mohd Abdul Adnan (12 not out) added 42 for the unbroken eighth wicket with Ravi Teja going on to complete his century. He remained unbeaten on 100 off 93 balls with 10 fours and four sixes.

Team H had a poor start losing Karan Yadav (9) but Sarthak Bharadwaj and A Avanish Rao steadied the boat with a 114-run partnership for the second wicket before left-arm spinner Aniketh Reddy spun his magic.

Aniketh first bowled Avanish Rao, who made 53 off 65 balls with six fours and two sixes, and a run later castled Sarthak for 66 off 97 balls with seven fours and three sixes.

Aniketh also got rid of Mickil Jaiswal (3), caught by Aaron George to leave Team H reeling at 150 for four. Chandan Sahani was batting on 15 and had Khush Agarwal (0) for company.

At the Eklavaya cricket ground, Team A, resuming at their overnight 394/4, went on to make 589 for seven but Team B made a positive reply scoring 159 for one by stumps.

Sunkari Dheeraj was the star for Team A as he struck a fine century before retiring out. Dheeraj and Sacheit Binjrajka continued from the previous day as they kept scoring at a brisk pace. They added 135 for the fifth wicket before Sachiet fell to Mudassar Hussain Md for 80 off 112 balls with eight fours and two sixes.

Dheeraj then added another 89 off 166 balls for the sixth wicket with Syed Ghazi Abbas before retiring out. Dheeraj made 102 off 167 balls with nine fours and a six. Ghazi Abbas remained unbeaten on 51 off 111 balls with two fours.

Mudassar Hussain (3/105) and Shaunak Kulkarni (3/133) were the successful bowlers.

In reply, Team B were off to a brisk start with Varun Vinod scoring 32 off 29 balls with seven fours but it was too good to last as he was caught behind by Dheeraj off Ashish Srivastav.

However, Sai Vikas Reddy and Rohit Rayudu K kept the Team A bowlers at bay as they steadily rebuilt the innings. They duo scored added 116 off 167 balls for the unbroken second wicket. Sai Vikas was batting on 83 off 99 balls with 11 fours and two sixes and Rohit Rayudu was on 41 off 89 balls with four boundaries.

After managing to eke out a narrow six-run lead, Team D consolidated their position by reaching 189 for two thanks to Pranav Suryadevara against Team C at the Dr N Kondal Rao cricket stadium.

Replying to Team D’s modest 249, Team C could reach 243 with Ctl Rakshann Readdi bagging four for 65 and K Rahul Karthikeya taking three for 38.

In their second innings, Team D lost A Jai Ram Kashyap (8) but Pranav and Anvith Reddy steadied the innings with a 75-run partnership before Anvith (27) fell.

Pranav and Rahul Radesh then added 73 for the unbroken third wicket with Pranav doing the bulk of the scoring – 62 off 29 balls.

At stumps, Pranav was batting on 138 off just 70 balls with 15 fours and nine sixes, while Rahul was on nine.
