Andhra Pradesh shooter Nelavalli Mukesh won two gold medals at the 24th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial National Shooting Championship (pistol), organized by the National Rifle Association, at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi on Monday.
Guntur-lad Mukesh secured the gold medals in both the senior and junior categories of the 25m Pistol men’s event. He scored 584 (21x) points out of a possible 600. Suraj Sharma from Madhya Pradesh won silver medals in both categories with a score of 581 (21x), while M Shravan Shashidhar from Karnataka won bronze medals with 581 (20x) points.
Suraj Sharma and Shravan also won gold and silver medals, respectively, in the Youth category.
Last month, Nelavalli Mukesh had won a gold medal at the World Cup held in Spain. He also set a World record in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event along with Palak from Punjab.
