Amith bags nine as bowlers rule the roost in HCA inter-school tourney

J Amith Reddy just fell short of a clean sweep as his nine-wicket haul set up BMRS Grammar High School’s five-wicket win over Phoenix Greens School (Kompally) in the HCA U-14 Inter-school tournament in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Right-arm mediumpacer Amith ran through the rival side as he finished with figures of nine for 24. Phoenix were bowled out for 93 and BMRS replied with 101 for five.

Mokshagna six-wicket haul helped Akshara International School (LB Nagar) crush Genesis School (Alwal) by 10 wickets. Mokshagna had figures of six for five as Genesis were shot out for a paltry 13. Akshara made 17 for no loss in two overs.

M Tanish’s five-wicket haul set up Academic Heights Public School’s thumping 10-wicket victory over St Martin’s High School (Malkajgiri).

Leg spinner Tanish took five for 17 to bundled out St Martin’s for a mere 51. Academic Heights replied with 53 for no loss in just 6.2 overs.

K Moses Paul Reddy bagged five wickets to se up Gowtham Model School’s resounding 10-wicket victory over Kened Vidya Bhavan High School.  Moses took five for 24 as Kenedy were shot out for 56. In reply, Gowtham made 62 for no loss in 10 overs.

Jatin Sharmam Abhinava Chanakya, Sulaiman Baig slams centuries

On a day when bowlers ruled the roost, Jatin Sharma hammered a 77-ball 123 (13×4, 4×6) to set up Hidayah Islamic International School’s 182-run win over Nasr Boys School. Alkshat Sinha took five for 31 for Nasr. Replying to Hidayah’s 227, Nasr were bowled out for 45 with leggie Utkarsh taking seven for 26.

MSN Abhinava Chanakya was the other centurion of the day. His 112-ball 101 (13×4) helped Amrita Vidyalayam (Mahendra Hills) post a 69-run win over Delhi Public School (Aerocity).  Chanakya also bagged four wickets in the DPS’ innings.

Mirza Sulaiman Baig’s 101 with 12 fours and a six set up Hyderabad School of Excellence’s 172-run win over Bhavans Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya (Sainikpuri).
