Capital Amaravathi Royals manage to pip Bhimavaram Bulls via DLS method

Capital Amaravathi Royals pulled off a narrow eight-run victory, via the DLS method, over Bhimavaram Bulls in the Andhra Premier League 2026 at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

In a match reduced to 19 overs a side, Capital Amaravathi Royals, who chose to bat first, lost KV Sasikanth (14; 4 balls, 2×4, 1×6), who was bowled by Ch Ravi Teja, with 15 on the board off 4 balls.

Y Sandeep (0) was the next to go as he was caught by Hemanth Reddy off B Munish Varma even as he was involved in a 29-run partnership with SV Rahul.

Rahul and P Avinash (14) then added 27 off 18 balls before the latter was caught by Satyanarayana off M Ravi Kiran and a run later Rahul was caught by Hemanth off TV Sai Sravan. Rahul made a 20-alll 43 with three fours and four sixes as Capital Amaravathi Royals sunk to 73 for four.

T Varun Satwik and Karan Shinde steadied the innings with a 29-run partnership for the fifth wicket before Satwik (8) was caught by Satvik off Girish Kumar.

Then Shinde and SDNV Prasad took the score to 125 with a 23-run stand for the sixth wicket before Shinde was caught by Yeswanth off Sai Sravan. Shinde made a 23-ball 33 with four boundaries.

Prasad and B Ayyappa added a 23-ball 41 to prop up the Royals total. But after Ayyappa retired hurt on 9, the Amaravathi Royals’ innings went into a spin fall. Prasad was the last batter to fall after making a 24-ball 38 with four sixes as Capital Amaravathi Royals folded up for 169 in 18.4 overs. PV Satyanarayana Raju took three for 48, while Sai Sravan bagged two for 16.

Bhimavaram Bulls made a steady start with M Hemanth Reddy and K Revanth Reddy adding 30 for the first wicket before Revanth fell to Toshith Yadav.

Skipper Hemanth Reddy and TV Sai Sravan then went after the rival attack. They got 71 off 43 balls as the Bulls crossed the 100-run mark in 10 overs.

Hemanth was caught by Rahul off Deepu Bhargav after making 59 off 38 balls with four boundaries and three sixes.

After Hemanth’s departure, Bhimavaram Bulls lost their way. From 101 for one, they were reduced to 130 for six as wickets kept tumbling. Sai Sravan was caught by Varun off Sasikanth for 40 (26 balls; 5×4, 1×6), B Satvik fell to Ayyappa after making 10.

M Dheeraj Kumar (0) and B Munish Varma (0) were packed off by G Yeswanth off successive deliveries in the 15th over.

M Ravi Kiran got 25 off 15 balls but his effort was not sufficient to help Bhimavaram Bulls go over the line. They ended up with 163 for nine in 19 overs.

KV Sasikanth took three for 48, while G Yeswanth bagged two for 14.  B Ayyappa was named Player of the Match.
