Akhileshwar and K Sai Smaran Reddy struck centuries and Krish Dontukurti took five wickets as Gowtham Model School (West Marredpally) hammered Nizamabad District by 350 runs in the HCA’s U-14 Inter-school tournament in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Batting first, Gowtham Model School ran up 388 for four thanks to Akhileshwar, who slammed a 82-ball 115 with 19 fours, and Sai Smaran Reddy, who made a 127-ball 136 with 17 boundaries. In reply, Nizamabad were skittled out for 38 as Krish claimed five for 14.

Ch Anirudh and Mahaprasada struck centuries to set up Pallavi Model School’s (Alwal) 50-run victory over Crescent High School (Baba Nagar) in a high-scoring game. Pallavi made 308 for five thanks to Anirudh’s 123-ball 105, which contained 15 fours, and Mahaprasada’s quickfire 94-ball 121. He struck 18 fours in his innings.

Crescent’s reply centred around B Ritvik Reddy, who made 121 off 124 balls with 18 boundaries, but it was not enough. They ended up with 258 on the board.

G Rakesh Sekhar hit an unbeaten century to steer St Mark’s Boys Town High School (Jahanuma) to a thumping nine-wicket victory over Adilabad District. Batting first, Adilabad made a competitive 290 for two with S Eashaan Reddy scoring an unbeaten 108 off 141 balls. He was ably supported by Yash Raj, who made an unbeaten 89.

However, the total proved insufficient to test the St Mark’s batters. Rakesh struck 23 fours in his unbeaten 149 which came off 130 balls as St Mark’s’ made 291 for one.

Anirudh Goud struck a fine century to set up Academic Heights Public School’s 161-run win over Oakridge International School (Bachupally). Anirudh made a 120-ball 128 with 18 fours as Academic Heights ran up 333 for nine. In reply, Oakridge were bowled out for 172.

D Shashanth took five for 15 to bowl Sage School (Medipally) to a 45-run win over BMRS Grammar High School (Chengicherla). Sage School made 142 as J Amith Reddy took five for 37. However, in reply, BMRS were bowled out for 97.
