Abdul Kalam powers HPS Begumpet to title with a 4-0 win over St Patrick’s High School

Abdul Kalam scored a brace to power Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) to a thumping 4-0 win over St Patrick’s High School (Secunderabad) in the Under-17 boys final of the CISCE Sports & Games AP & Telangana Pre-Subroto Cup Football Tournament, organized by Nasr Boys School on their premises in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on Thursday.

Abdul Kalam struck twice as Hyderabad Public School boys dominated the final. They brooked no challenge from St Patrick’s School footballers. It turned out to be a one-sided affair as the Hyderabad Public School boys were all over the St Patrick’s School territory.

Nasr Boys, St Patrick’s, Sherwood PS & HPS (Begumpet) reach semifinals of U-17 football

Danyal and Abhiram scored the other goals as Hyderabad Public School cruised to a 4-0 win and lay their hands on the coveted trophy.

In the first semifinal, it was Abdul Kalam who shot Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) into the final as he struck the all-important goal against hosts Nasr Boys School (Gachibowli) in their 1-0 win.

In the second semifinal, St Patrick’s High School scored a 2-1 win over Sherwood Public School. Abraham and Shyam scored for the winners, while Tarun got the consolation goal for Sherwood Public School.

Results: Final: Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) 4 (Abdul Kalam 2, Danyal, Abhiram) beat St Patrick’s High School 0.

Semifinals: Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) 1 (Abdul Kalam) beat Nasr Boys School (Gachibowli) 0; St Patrick’s High School 2 (Abraham, Shyam) beat Sherwood Public School 1 (Tarun).
