Rakesh, Kamran, Ritvik, Vivaan, Sathvik, Adhish, Kashif shine in HCA U-14 Inter-school tournament

G Rakesh Shekar hammered a double century, and Mohd Kamran hit a century as St Mark’s Boys Town High School hammered Oxford International School (Dammaiguda) by 520 runs in the HCA’s U-14 Inter-school tournament in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Batting first, St Marks ran up a massive 583 for four in 50 overs. Rakesh’s belligerent 202 came off only 129 balls with 25 hits to the fence. Kamran made a 107-ball 188 with 28 fours and four sixes. G Nikil Sekhar chipped in with a useful 91. In reply, Oxford were bowled out for 62 with left-arm seamer Kamran taking five for seven.

B Ritvik Reddy struck an unbeaten century to set up Crescent High School’s (Babanagar) 177-run win over Jubilee Hills High School. Ritvik made 112 off 89 balls with 16 fours and a six. B Gowtham Reddy made 88. In reply, Jubilee Hills were bowled out for 116.

Vivaan Michael

In another match, Vivaan Michael scored 109 off 117 balls with 14 boundaries to set up Cal Public School’s 146-run win over Khammam District.

Right arm fast bowler Sathvik’s eight-wicket haul went in vain as Bhavishya School crashed to a 45-run loss to St Anthony’s Grammar High School (Dammaiguda).

Sathvik took eight for 37 to restrict St Anthony’s top a modest 103. However, his batters let him down as Bhavishya were shot out for 58 with Abdul Arshaan Khan taking four for 12.

Left-arm spinner Adhish Meda’s six-wicket haul helped Vignan Vidyala (Nizampet) post a thumping 10-wicket win over Zee High School (Hayathnagar). Adhish took six for six as Zee High School were bundled out for 40. Vignan Vidyala replied with 41 for no loss.

Kashif Ullah Khan too took six for 13 to set up Genesis School’s (Vijaynagar) 10-wicket victory over Pallavi Model School (Bowenpally).
