Sadaa of Anwar-ul Uloom College scored a brace to help his team win the final of the Osmania University Inter College Football Championships. Anwar-ul Uloom College defeated hosts Loyola Academy 2-1. Avinash scored the lone goal for Loyola Academy.
In the third-place fight between Bhavans Vivekananda, Sainikpuri, and St Joseph’s the former prevailed 2-1.
Twenty-three teams took part in the tournament which was hosted by Loyola Academy, Alwal, from December 9 to 12. The tournament was inaugurated by Rev Fr M Arul Jothi SJ, vice principal & director of sports, Loyola Academy and Prof K Deepla, BOC, IUT secretary, Osmania University.
Results (final): Anwar-ul Uloom Degree College 2 (Sadaa 2) bt Loyola Academy, Alwal 1 (Avinash). Third place: Bhavans Vivekananda. Sainikpuri bt St Joseph’s 2-1.
