Four centuries were recorded in a single game as Team C prevailed over Team A in the HCA Senior Women’s One-day Probables’ match at the Gymkhana ground on Sunday. Akanksha Semwal, V Prathiksha, Sandhya Gora and Vanka Pooja posted hundreds in a game which produced 600 runs.
Batting first, Team C made a massive 314 for seven in their allotted 50 overs. No.3 bat Akanksha Semwal struck a 115-ball 102. The left-handed bat struck 14 fours in her knock before she retired hurt. V Prathikha was even more adventurous as she smashed a 70-ball 102 with 13 fours and a six.
Team A’s response revolved around Sandhya Gora, who took 110 balls to make 100 with 12 hits to the fence, and Vanka Pooja, who made a 92-ball 100 which contained 14 fours. However, Team A could muster only 286 for five.
In another match Team B scored a nine-wicket win over Team D in a low-scoring game. Team D made 84 for nine and Team B replied with 88 for one.
Brief scores: Team D 84/9 in 33.1 overs (D Pranjal 38) lost to Team B 88/1 in 12.5 overs (K Nidhi 37 no). Team C 314/7 in 50 overs (Akanksha Semwal 102, V Prathiksha 102) beat Team A 286/5 in 50 overs (Sandhya Gora 100, Vanka Pooja 100).
Sreekruthan, Somit, Chetan, Medhansh, Rakesh, Sriramula and Jeevan sparkle
It was a massacre of the lambs in the HCA’s U-14 boys probables’ match as Team H ran up a massive 430 for four with three batters hammering centuries. At close of play, Team I were six without loss in two overs.
Batting first, Team H made 430 for four with Sreekruthan hammering a 96-ball 100 with 15 fours and Sistu Somit scoring a composed 101 off 168 balls with nine hits to the fence. CV Chetan Aditya then remained unbeaten on 111 which came of 118 balls with 17 hits to the fence. Utkarsh took four for 69 for Team I.
In another match, Medhansh Agarwal scored a 91-ball 104 with 13 boundaries and G Jeevan fell two short of the 100-run mark as Team G made 327 for four. Earlier, Team J were bowled out for 62 as P Vivaan Reddy (4/17) and Vihaan Shah (4/5) ran amock.
G Rakesh Sekhar made 105 off 146 balls with 12 fours but Team D could manage only 176. In reply, Team C were 126 for three at stumps.
Elsewhere, Sriramula Gounish took five for 40 to restrict Team E to 236 and in reply Team B were 160 for three.
