N Sai Thanu Sri claimed a hat-trick but her efforts went in vain as Team P crashed to a 23-run loss to Team N in the HCA’s Under-19 women’s T20 selection matches at the Kings cricket ground in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Batting first, Team N were off to a flying start with openers T Harshini and Dharavath Rishika adding 31 for the first wicket before Harshini was run out by Kamalshetty Adithi for 12.

Rishika and Jitya Agarwal then added 51 off 59 balls for the second wicket before Rishika was trapped leg before by Syed Vazeera after making 27 off 39 balls with two fours.

Team N lost Jitya (17) at the same score of 82 as she was claimed by Kamalshetty Adithi. Thereafter, it was a Thanu Sri show as the right arm mediumpacer made her rivals dance to her tune.

Thanu first scalped Chitakoduru Akshaya Sri (0) with the first ball and then added Dadi Keerthana (0) and Gadila Anjana Devi (0) to her kitty with the next two balls to complete her well-deserved hat-trick.

In her next over, Thanu Sri dismissed Gundrathi Tanvishri (2) to finish with four for 12 with 18 dot balls as Team N collapsed from 81 for one to 97 for seven.
