Hyderabad Public School (HPS) girls cruised to a comfortable 25-18 win over Takshasila Public School in the senior girls’ category of volleyball competitions of the 26th Annual YMCA Kargil Victory Sports Festival at the YMCA, Hyderabad, on Thursday.
Zee High School managed to pull off a narrow three-point win over Rosary Convent. Zee High School won 25-22, while Johnson Grammar School defeated G Pulla Reddy Memorial School 25-14.
In the boys’ category, Srividya Secondary School thrashed Kesav Memorial School 25-9, and Johnson Grammar School mauled Zee High School 25-4. In another match, Rajasri Vidya Mandir defeated Takshasila Public School 25-13.
J Anyonya, assistant IGP (CID), attached to the DGP’s Office, along with Dr Jonathan Dharmaraj, president, GM Deendayal, vice-president, Vijay Kumar, inspector (CID), BJ Vinaya Swaroop, consultant to the YMCA Board Office, and Priestly Gius M, general secretary of YMCAs of Greater Hyderabad, attended the inaugural ceremony.
Results: Kabaddi: Senior Girls: Chaitanya Bharati School beat; Naveena School 25-8; Nagarjuna School beat Takshasila Public School 12-3; Vivek Vardhini School beat St John’s High School 24-17.
Kho Kho: Senior Girls: Vyas Model School beat Deeksha Global School 2-1; Rajasri Vidya Mandir beat Takshasila Public School 9-2; Holy Mary High School beat Deeksha Global School 5-3.
Senior Boys: Vyas Model School beat Sai Model School 4-3.
Volleyball: Senior Boys: Rajasri Vidya Mandir beat Takshasila Public School 25-13; Srividya Secondary School beat Kesav Memorial High School 25-9; Johnson Grammar School beat Zee High School 25-4.
