The 40th edition of the Olympic Day Run, organized by the Telangana Olympic Association (TOA) in association with the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG), will be held on June 23.
The run will be held to commemorate Olympic Day and promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
As part of the celebrations, Olympic Day runs are being conducted across all districts of Telangana from June 18 to 23, 2026. The week-long programme aims to encourage mass participation in sports and physical fitness among people of all age groups.
In Hyderabad, the grand finale will be held on June 23 with the run commencing simultaneously from nine important locations across the city. Eminent sportspersons and outstanding athletes will lead the participants, carrying the Olympic Torch. The nine teams will converge at the Tennis Complex, LB Stadium, Hyderabad, by 7 am.
The concluding ceremony will be graced by Vakiti Srihari, minister for sports and youth affairs, Shiva Sena Reddy, chairman, Sports Authority of Telangana, AP Jitender Reddy, advisor to government of Telangana (sports affairs), New Delhi, and Dr Sonibala Devi, managing director, Sports Authority of Telangana.
All sportspersons, students, youth, and sports-loving citizens are requested to participate in large numbers and make the event a grand success, says a press release issued by the Telangana Olympic Association secretary P Malla Reddy.
