Despite Chennai’s efforts in the final period, the Dreamers remained resolute to secure a convincing victory.
The Hyderabad Heroes made a flying start as Taitaifono Tavita crossed on the left wing before Kevin Wekesa powered over twice in the opening quarter to hand his side an early advantage. The Heroes’ quick movement and attacking intent kept the Kalinga Tigers under pressure, although Aaron Cummings and Vuiviwa Naduvalo responded with tries in the second quarter. The intensity rose after the break, with Francisco Cosculluela intercepting a loose Tigers pass to extend the Heroes’ lead, before Naduvalo struck again in the final quarter to keep the contest finely poised.
