The 2nd South Zone Pickleball Championship will be held at The Hub Pickleball Facility, Kompally, Hyderabad, from June 13 to 15.
On Monday, Telangana minister for sports and youth services Vakati Srihari, and Dr A Sonibala Devi, vice chairman & managing director, Sports Authority of Telangana, unveiled the official mascot and wall poster of the championship at the minister’s camp office in Hyderabad.
Around 350 players from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala are expected to participate and compete for championship titles, medals, and attractive perks sponsored by Skechers (sports shoes) and YAIT Professional Paddles.
The 2nd South Zone Pickleball Championship is expected to serve as a significant platform for players across South India and further strengthen the growth and popularity of pickleball in the region.
The championship is being organized by the Amateur Telangana Pickleball Association (ATPA) under the aegis of the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), with the support of the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) and the Telangana Olympic Association (TOA).
Among those present on the occasion were P Jagan Mohan Goud, NIS, general secretary, ATPA, and chairman of the selection committee, AIPA; K Venkatesh, joint secretary, ATPA; Kiran Chary, office secretary, ATPA; and other members of the association.
