Elegans Eagles defeated Porus Panther in the inaugural tie of the FNCC-Pullela Gopichand Badminton League at the Film Nagar Cultural Centre in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Elegans Eagles clinched the tie by virtue of losing fewer points as both teams had won five matches each. Eagles had 112 losing points while Porus Panther had 125 losing points.

Panther’s Hamsini began with a bang as she scored a 15-9, 15-12 win over Aaryama. However, Chinmay and Tazuwala brought Eagles back into contention by defeating Satwik and Shankar respectively in their singles matches. Chinmay won 15-10, 15-13 and Tazuwala prevailed 15-14, 15-8.
Bonam scored a 15-8, 15-10 win over Disha Santosh and the men’s doubles pair of Niranjan and Satwik defeated Krishan and Sai Raman 15-8, 15-14 to put Panther back on top.
Pranav Ram defeated Pranav Rao 12-15, 15-14, 15-14 and then Shreyanshi tamed Ilisha 15-12, 15-6 to help Eagles stay in the contest.
Panther’s Aadhya defeated Kanvika 15-13, 15-10 and then the women’s doubles pair Srinidhi and Aananya prevailed over Varna and Riddhima 15-4, 14-15, 15-12.

In the final match, Pranit of Eagles defeated Sai Vasan 15-7, 15-13 to clinch the issue for the Eagles.
