More than 50 Kendriya Vidyalayas of the Hyderabad Region took part in the 55th KVS Regional Sports Meet which was successfully hosted by PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Golconda and conducted with great enthusiasm, energy, and sportsmanship.
A total of 370 students, including 145 girls and 225 boys, showcased their talent, determination, and team spirit across 98 events. Winners were felicitated with gold, silver, and bronze medals for their outstanding performances.
The event was graced by chief guest, Dhyanchand Awardee Subedar Manjeet Singh, an Olympian who proudly represented India in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. In his inspiring address, he encouraged students to pursue excellence in sports with discipline, dedication, perseverance, and a positive attitude. He emphasized that sports not only build physical strength but also shape character, confidence, and leadership qualities.
Rajeshwari, vice principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Golconda, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, dignitaries, participants, and guests. In her welcome address, she highlighted the importance of sports in the holistic development of students and appreciated the spirit of healthy competition and unity among the young athletes.
In his vote of thanks, Suresh Katoch, principal of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Golconda, expressed sincere gratitude to the chief guest for his inspiring presence and valuable guidance. He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of all participating schools, organizing staff, coaches, officials, volunteers, and students whose teamwork and commitment made the event a grand success. He remarked that such sporting events strengthen discipline, cooperation, unity, and the spirit of healthy competition among students.
The program concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.
